In recent years, and particularly thanks to the tremendous enthusiasm for culture during the European Capital of Culture year in 2013, the creation of the Musée Regards de Provence has opened up new opportunities for collaboration with French and foreign museums to design thematic and collective exhibitions built around the vast collection of the eponymous Foundation.
The Tampere Museum of Modern Art is the largest museum in the city and the third most important in Finland. It is renowned for its high-quality exhibitions featuring both Finnish and international artists and welcomes an average of 75,000 visitors per year. Its goal is to attract nearly 20,000 visitors with the “Mediterranean Light” exhibition.
This exhibition brings together 80 works by Provençal and adopted artists from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, highlighting the city of Marseille, its Old Port, the natural and heritage sites of Provence, the art of southern living, the Mediterranean coastline, and some Orientalist scenes.
This opportunity to promote Marseille and its region through works of art from our collection helps reinforce the city’s and metropolitan area’s position as a radiant cultural destination and an essential tourist hub.
